Shure KSM32C/HM Studio Condenser Microphone

Legendary KSM acoustics, reengineered for modern stages.

The Shure KSM32C/HM is a premium cardioid condenser microphone that combines the revered KSM acoustic heritage with modern, refreshed circuitry and a sleek open-grille design. Whether you are recording lead vocals in the studio or miking instruments in a demanding live environment, the KSM32C delivers a flat, truthful sound that sits naturally in any mix without the need for heavy EQ.

Neutral Sound Character

The KSM32C features a precision-engineered ¾" condenser capsule with an embossed Mylar diaphragm that produces the flattest, most natural voicing in the entire KSM family. Its exceptionally even frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz captures sources with remarkable accuracy and detail — vocals, acoustic instruments, brass, woodwinds, strings, and drums all sound true to life. With an ultra-low self-noise of just 11 dBA and a signal-to-noise ratio of 83 dB, quiet sources are captured cleanly without audible hiss or grain.

Outstanding Isolation

The precisely tuned cardioid polar pattern delivers up to 37 dB of off-axis rejection at 180°, making the KSM32C exceptional at isolating the target source from stage bleed, room reflections, and nearby instruments. On a busy stage with multiple microphones, this level of rejection means cleaner channels and a more controlled front-of-house mix. The built-in -15 dB attenuation pad extends the maximum SPL handling to 155 dB, making it equally at home in front of a snare drum or a brass instrument as it is on a vocal stand.

Stage Kit — Ready to Perform

The KSM32C/HM Stage Kit includes everything needed for immediate live deployment. The swivel-mount hard mic clamp provides solid, secure placement on any mic stand, while the custom-fit flocked foam windscreen reduces plosives and light air movement during performances. A premium zippered carrying case and a threaded stand adapter complete the package, so the KSM32C/HM is ready to go the moment it arrives.

Built to Last

The KSM32C is housed in a compact, all-metal body — a machined aluminium shell with a precision-engineered steel grille — that easily handles the rigours of touring and live production. Its slim, lightweight profile fits comfortably on crowded stages and boom stands where larger microphones would be impractical. At 265 g, it is robust without being cumbersome.

Versatile Applications

The KSM32C excels across a remarkably wide range of sources. Use it on lead and backing vocals, acoustic guitars, upright bass, piano, brass, woodwinds, strings, drum overheads, kick drums, floor toms, and bass amp cabinets. Its neutral voicing and low noise floor make it equally effective for studio tracking, broadcast, live sound reinforcement, and choral or orchestral recording.

Polar Pattern

Polar Pattern: Cardioid

The cardioid directional microphone is designed to be most sensitive to sounds coming directly from the front and less sensitive to sounds coming from the sides and back. This directional pattern resembles the shape of a heart (hence the name "cardioid") and is ideal for situations where it is necessary to focus on a single sound source and minimize ambient noise.
