Diplo, born Thomas Wesley Pentz on November 10, 1978, is an influential American DJ and music producer known for his genre-blending sound and global collaborations. He is a co-creator and leading force behind Major Lazer, and is also a key member of the supergroup LSD with Labrinth and Sia, the duo Jack U with Skrillex, and Silk City with Mark Ronson. Founder of the label Mad Decent and the charity Heaps Decent, Diplo first gained international attention by producing M.I.A.’s hit “Paper Planes.” His solo work includes the EP Revolution, which charted on the Billboard 200. Over his career, Diplo has worked with artists including Madonna, Beyoncé, Shakira, Justin Bieber, Blackpink, and Bad Bunny. His stage name comes from his childhood fascination with dinosaurs.
