Manowar is a heavy metal band from Auburn, New York, formed in 1980. Renowned for their powerful sound and epic themes, their music draws heavily on fantasy, sword and sorcery, and ancient mythology. Manowar is famous for both their loud, anthemic performances and their dedication to true heavy metal, often summed up by their slogan death to false metal. They have set world records for the loudest concerts and the longest heavy metal performance, playing over five hours at Bulgaria’s Kavarna Rock Fest in 2008.
