Blocks

The blocks in this category are musical percussion blocks, not note pads or building blocks. In drums and percussion they provide a short, dry and cutting rhythmic accent: a wooden block sounds more natural and warmer, while a plastic or synthetic block is usually more stable and louder. When choosing, consider size and tuning, because a smaller block plays higher, a larger one lower and a temple block set offers more tones than a single tone block. They are useful for music lessons, children’s rhythm training, school bands and both acoustic and stage playing.

• For simple exercises, a hand-held block is enough; for frequent playing, mounting it on a stand or percussion holder is more practical.
