HILS HN6 NEXT Ultra Violet — Headless Electric Guitar with Pro-Grade Hardware

The HILS HN6 NEXT Ultra Violet is a headless electric guitar built around a solid mahogany body with a gloss finish, Fishman Fluence pickups, and an Alchemy tremolo system. Its roasted maple and walnut neck with stainless steel frets delivers a fast, modern feel. The HN6 NEXT Ultra Violet is the right choice for guitarists who want a travel-friendly pro instrument with real tremolo range and active pickup clarity.

What sets the HN6 NEXT apart in the headless category

Two features separate this model from entry-level headless designs: the Alchemy custom tremolo co-developed with HILS, and the Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker pairing. The Alchemy tremolo uses a two-point design with individual saddles and a screw-in arm for real dive-bomb range without vintage-style tuning headaches. Fishman Fluence pickups pair an Alnico bridge with a Ceramic neck, both wired through push/pull pots for voicing changes and coil splits.

Roasted maple/walnut neck with stainless steel frets

The 5-piece roasted maple and walnut neck is the HN6's stability backbone. Roasting removes moisture from the wood, making it less reactive to humidity changes on stage or in transit. The Indian rosewood fingerboard carries 24 medium stainless steel frets across a compound radius from 305 mm to 406 mm.

  • Neck Material: 5-piece Roasted Maple / Walnut — climate-stable, resistant to warping
  • Fingerboard Radius: 305 mm – 406 mm (compound) — easy chording at the nut, clean bending near the upper frets
  • Frets: 24 medium stainless steel — long service life, smooth rolled edges

Fishman Fluence HH configuration with push/pull versatility

The HH pickup layout uses Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers — Alnico at the bridge for warmth and bite, Ceramic at the neck for clarity and tightness. A master volume and master tone control both feature push/pull functions for voicing changes and coil splits, paired with a 3-way toggle for pickup selection.

  • Bridge Pickup: Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker (Alnico) — punchy, vocal character for lead lines
  • Neck Pickup: Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker (Ceramic) — tight low end, glassy highs for clean tones
  • Controls: 1 Volume (push/pull), 1 Tone (push/pull), 3-way toggle — voicing and coil split without extra switches

Alchemy tremolo, titanium headpiece, and travel-ready weight

The Alchemy custom tremolo bridge and titanium locking headpiece keep the HN6 in tune through aggressive whammy use. At under 3 kg, the guitar slips into the included deluxe padded gig bag and fits in airplane overhead bins for touring players.

  • Bridge: Alchemy custom tremolo — two-point pivot, individual saddles, fine tuners
  • Headpiece: Titanium locking machine heads — fast string changes, stable tuning
  • Nut: TUSQ, 42 mm width — self-lubricating for tuning stability

Who should consider the HN6 NEXT Ultra Violet

The HN6 NEXT Ultra Violet is built for working guitarists, gigging players, and serious hobbyists who want a headless instrument with real pro-level hardware. Players dealing with back or shoulder strain will appreciate the sub-3 kg weight and balanced headless body. The Fishman Fluence active electronics suit modern rock, metal, fusion, and pop players who need clarity at high gain and quiet operation on stage. The HILS HN6 NEXT Ultra Violet is the right choice for guitarists who travel with their instrument and need a guitar that survives airline overhead bins and rehearsal halls without complaint.

HILS Guitars and the NEXT series

HILS positions the NEXT series as its modern headless platform, with the HN6 at the top of the lineup thanks to the Fishman Fluence electronics and Alchemy tremolo partnership. The Ultra Violet Chameleon finish is part of the NEXT color-shifting paint family, reacting visibly to stage lighting and giving the guitar a distinct visual identity on stage.

Great instrument, especially for this price ! I was looking at a guitar with fishman fluence pickups then I heard about headless guitars and their ergonomic advantages. This one has both and looks incredible. The floating tremolo poses the same pros and cons as a regular guitar. The neck is quite like a modern strat. I prefer the thin D neck that I have in my Ibanez RG. But I got used to this one as well. The direct access to the truss rod is a blessing to adapt the neck to lower tunings. In summary : the specs of a 1000+€ guitar and the ergonomics of a headless.

Great guitar, it came from the store tuned, even the scale. The strings are a little high, but it's not a problem to tune. Fishman pickups are just right for metal, though I thought that switching the voices would give a much bigger change in tone than it actually is. The cutoff adds significant noise, but for me playing singles is not a priority. Extremely light and comfortable, much more comfortable after the LTD EC-256. The frets are smaller, but that's fine with me, the neck is not thick but not thin, and it's also comfortable. Instead of plastic washers on the pitch adjustment knobs, I put bearings (they're not expensive on Ali, I don't understand why they weren't put in from the factory).

Excellent guitar. Great setup from the factory. Plays awesome, super light, stays in tune. Sound, finish, all just.. insane value for the price. Easily more value than a lot of 2000 eur guitars.
