Yamaha RS20MM Matteo Mancuso Signature — Chambered Revstar Built for Articulation

The RS20MM is a production signature model developed in collaboration with Matteo Mancuso, the Italian guitarist who has played Revstar since early in his career. Designed to mirror the look, feel, and response of the custom Revstar Mancuso has played since 2019, this guitar is built for clarity and control from clean jazz passages to driven rock tones. A chambered mahogany body with a flamed maple top reduces weight while adding resonance.

Pickups and Switching

Two features define the voice of this signature Revstar. DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary humbuckers, redesigned based on vintage PAF specifications, produce a softer magnetic field that lets the strings vibrate more freely, yielding long sustain and an expressive pick response. The push-pull Focus Switch activates a passive boost that emulates overwound pickups (darker highs, enhanced mids and lows), while the 5-way selector introduces a subtle phase shift in positions 2 and 4.

The RS20MM's chambered body uses Yamaha's Acoustic Design process to shape internal chambers in the mahogany back, reducing mass while opening up natural resonance. A flamed maple top in Vintage Sunburst adds visual depth.
