Choosing a 2× cabinet for your amp head

Start with impedance. The cabinet must present a load supported by the head; adding another cabinet means checking the resulting impedance of the entire rig. Then compare cabinet power handling with the power delivered by the amplifier at that load. Manufacturer specifications take priority over general rules, especially when combining cabinets.

Transport and use

If you often move the rig alone, weight and enclosure shape can matter as much as electrical specifications. In a permanent rehearsal room, a larger enclosure or future expansion may take priority. In either case, check the connectors and specifications of the full signal chain.
