It drains the batteries very quickly, the factory one lasted me about half an hour, the Varta one about 1-1.5 hours maximum. The range in open areas is 20-30 meters maximum, 100 meters is a pretty strong exaggeration. Let's stay around 25 meters. The sound quality is quite noisy and crackly, obviously not the quality of a basic wired microphone, because even those are better than this. Therefore, it is a usable microphone for the price, but you shouldn't expect too much from it.
