Avantasia is a German metal opera supergroup founded by Tobias Sammet, who is also known as the vocalist of Edguy. Blending elements of rock opera with symphonic and power metal, Avantasia is renowned for its ambitious concept albums and the collaboration of numerous guest vocalists and musicians from the rock and metal scenes. The name combines Avalon and fantasia, representing a fantastical world beyond reality.
