Brooklyn Rider is an innovative American string quartet based in Brooklyn, New York. Comprised of violinists Johnny Gandelsman and Colin Jacobsen, violist Nicholas Cords, and cellist Michael Nicolas, the group is recognized for its adventurous approach to repertoire, focusing on contemporary works and collaborations beyond the traditional classical genre. Formed in 2006, Brooklyn Rider founded the Stillwater Music Festival as a showcase for new music and creative partnerships.
