Daniel Rosenfeld, known as C418, is a German musician, composer, and producer best known for creating the original soundtrack for Minecraft. His minimalistic and ambient style gained worldwide recognition, with his music for Minecraft praised as one of the most iconic video game soundtracks. Introduced to music production by his brother, Rosenfeld took up composing as a hobby before connecting with Minecraft creator Markus Persson, leading to his involvement in the game. He released the albums Volume Alpha and Volume Beta for Minecraft, along with other works such as One, 148, Dief, and Excursions. Rosenfeld also scored music for projects like Beyond Stranger Things and the Steam release of Cookie Clicker. As a co-founder of the indie game studio Ivy Road, he composed the soundtrack for their first game, Wanderstop. In 2023, he reached number one on Billboard’s emerging artists chart.
