Cases for musical stands

An instrument stand case keeps folded parts together on the way to a rehearsal, performance or lesson. It helps separate the stand from the instrument and other equipment so metal parts do not move around freely during transport. Not every case fits every model, so the stand's folded dimensions are what matter. If you carry it often, the weight of the case and a comfortable handle or strap are also important.

How to choose the right size

Measure the length, width and thickest point of the folded stand, then compare them with the internal case dimensions. Remember any protruding pegs, supports or locking parts. A case that is too tight may be difficult to close, while one that is too large can allow the contents to shift as you walk.

• For several parts, look for internal separation or join them before storage as instructed by the manufacturer.
• For regular travel, choose a carrying method that works well alongside your instrument case.
• Remove dirt before storage and fold the stand so sharp or moving parts do not press against the case wall.
