Dr. Octagon is the alter ego of American rapper Kool Keith, introduced in the early 1990s. As Dr. Octagon, Kool Keith released four studio albums, starting with the influential debut Dr. Octagonecologyst in 1996. The character became known for its surreal, sci-fi storytelling and inventive production, often in collaboration with Dan the Automator and DJ Qbert. Dr. Octagon’s story took unexpected turns, including being killed by another Kool Keith persona, Dr. Dooom, and later revived in various projects. The most recent album, Moosebumps: An Exploration Into Modern Day Horripilation, was released in 2018, marking a reunion of the original creative team.
