Elán is a Slovak pop rock band formed in 1968 by four classmates: Jožo Ráž, Vašo Patejdl, Juraj Farkaš, and Zdeno Baláž. Rising to prominence in the 1980s, they became one of the most popular bands in Czechoslovakia, releasing a string of successful albums throughout the decade. Known for their catchy hits and energetic performances, Elán has toured internationally and played at major events, including the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2009. The band has received numerous awards, among them multiple Slávik and Zlatý slavík trophies, highlighting their lasting impact on the Slovak and Czech music scenes.
