Jeff Buckley

Jeff Buckley

Jeff Buckley was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist acclaimed for his distinctive voice and emotional intensity. After years working as a session musician in Los Angeles, he developed a devoted following in the early 1990s through performances in New York City's East Village. In 1994, he released his only studio album, Grace, which received widespread praise and led to international tours. While working on his second album in Memphis in 1997, Buckley tragically drowned in the Wolf River. After his death, his reputation grew, with Grace frequently ranked among the greatest albums and his rendition of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah celebrated as an iconic recording. Buckley has inspired artists such as Thom Yorke and Matt Bellamy, and his work continues to influence musicians today.
