Levellers are an English folk rock and anarcho-punk band formed in Brighton in 1988. The group includes Mark Chadwick, Jeremy Cunningham, Charlie Heather, Jon Sevink, Simon Friend, Matt Savage, and Dan Donnelly. Named after the historical Levellers political movement, they gained major attention with their second album Levelling the Land after signing to China Records. Known for their energetic blend of folk and punk, they became a leading indie act in Britain during the early 1990s, and headlined Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage to a record crowd in 1994. Levellers continue to release new music and tour internationally.
