Martin Valihora, born in 1976, is a renowned Slovak drummer and percussionist. Originally trained as a pianist, he soon turned to drums, studying at the Conservatorium in Bratislava. Valihora has played with leading Slovak pop, rock, and jazz groups, including IMT Smile and Collegium Musicum. After receiving a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, he became active on the New York jazz scene. He is best known internationally for his collaboration with Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi Uehara from 2004 to 2008.
