Michael Kamen (1948–2003) was an acclaimed American composer, arranger, conductor, and musician known for his work across rock, pop, and film music. Early in his career, he arranged for artists like Pink Floyd and performed with the New York Rock & Roll Ensemble and the Roger Waters Band. Kamen became especially celebrated for his memorable film scores, including Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Highlander, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Brazil, The Iron Giant, and X-Men, as well as music for television series such as Edge of Darkness, Tales from the Crypt, and Band of Brothers.
