Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was an influential American rapper, entrepreneur, and activist from Los Angeles. Rising from the West Coast hip-hop scene in the mid-2000s, he gained recognition through his Slauson Boy Volume 1 mixtape and a series of acclaimed projects, including Bullets Ain't Got No Name, The Marathon, The Marathon Continues, and Crenshaw. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found The Marathon Clothing store and launch Vector 90, a community workspace. Nipsey’s debut album Victory Lap received critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination, while his songs Racks in the Middle and Higher earned Grammy wins. Tragically, he was killed in 2019 outside his store in South Los Angeles, leaving a lasting legacy in music and community activism.
