Oliver Nelson was an influential American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, arranger, composer, and bandleader. He is best known for his 1961 album The Blues and the Abstract Truth, a landmark recording featuring the classic track "Stolen Moments." Nelson's other notable works from the 1960s include More Blues and the Abstract Truth and Sound Pieces, both released on Impulse! Records.
