Preservation Hall Jazz Band is a legendary New Orleans ensemble founded in the early 1960s by tuba player Allan Jaffe. Named after Preservation Hall in the French Quarter, the band is known for keeping traditional New Orleans jazz alive. Even after Hurricane Katrina forced the Hall to temporarily close in 2005, the band continued to share their music with audiences around the world.
