Richard Ashcroft is an acclaimed English musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the frontman and main songwriter for the pioneering alternative rock band the Verve, formed in 1989. His work has earned two Ivor Novello Awards and over ten million album sales worldwide. After the Verve’s initial split in 1999, Ashcroft launched a successful solo career, releasing six UK top-three albums, including Alone with Everybody and Keys to the World. The Verve briefly reunited from 2007 to 2009. Ashcroft’s influence is recognized by peers such as Noel Gallagher and Chris Martin, who have praised his exceptional talent. His seventh solo album, Lovin’ You, is set for release in October 2025.
