Richard Wright

Richard Wright was an English keyboardist and songwriter, best known as a founding member of Pink Floyd. Born in 1943 in Hatch End, Middlesex, he studied architecture in London, where he met his future bandmates Roger Waters and Nick Mason. Wright played a key role in shaping Pink Floyd's progressive sound with his distinctive keyboard work and jazz influences. He wrote and sang on early Pink Floyd songs such as Remember a Day and It Would Be So Nice, and contributed lead vocals to classics like Time and Wearing the Inside Out. Throughout his career with Pink Floyd, Wright was central to their albums and live performances, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 1996. In addition to his work with Pink Floyd, he released two solo albums and briefly formed the duo Zee. Wright died in 2008, leaving a lasting legacy as a vital contributor to one of rock’s most influential bands.
