Finger oils build up on the back of the neck and on the upper bout, and the usual answer — a gloss polish — makes it worse by burnishing shiny patches into a surface that is supposed to stay matte. Taylor Satin Guitar Cleaner is made for that problem: a premium cleaner for satin-finish instruments that lifts finger oils, dirt and other marks and brings the guitar back to its original clean satin look.

No Residue, and the Right Cloth

Taylor states the cleaner leaves behind no oils, silicone or waxy residue, which is what keeps the satin surface even instead of patchy.
