A-ha is a Norwegian synth-pop band formed in Oslo in 1982 by Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, Magne Furuholmen, and Morten Harket. The group quickly rose to international fame in the mid-1980s, powered by their debut album, Hunting High and Low, which featured the iconic hit Take On Me. This album topped the charts in Norway, reached number two in the UK, and produced several successful singles, earning A-ha a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Over their career, A-ha has released eleven studio albums, with notable hits including The Sun Always Shines on T V, The Living Daylights, Stay on These Roads, and Crying in the Rain. Although they took a hiatus in the 1990s, the band reunited for new albums and major tours, including a record-breaking concert at Maracanã Stadium for nearly 200 thousand fans. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, A-ha remains one of Norway’s most successful music acts, continuing to release new material, such as their 2022 album True North.
