Wooden absorption panels are intended to manage sound reflections and reverberation inside a room. Their construction may combine wood, plywood or HDF with mineral wool or fibreglass, so performance cannot be judged from the visible surface alone. Check whether the manufacturer identifies the model as an absorber or diffuser, its dimensions and recommended mounting position. A panel changes sound behaviour within the space; it does not replace structural soundproofing between rooms.

In a home or recording studio, start with placement relative to the speakers, microphone and listening position, then compare material construction, dimensions and finish. A listening room may also require a combination with other acoustic products, but their functions should remain distinct: an absorber takes up part of the energy, a diffuser scatters reflections and sound insulation addresses transmission through building structures. The specific effect depends on the product, covered area, position and room properties.
