AFI, short for A Fire Inside, is an American rock band formed in 1991 in Ukiah, California. Led by vocalist Davey Havok and drummer Adam Carson, the current lineup also includes Hunter Burgan and Jade Puget. Starting as a hardcore punk group, AFI has evolved through horror punk, post-hardcore, emo, and into alternative and gothic rock. The band gained major recognition with their album Sing the Sorrow in 2003 and reached number one on the Billboard 200 with Decemberunderground in 2006, featuring the hit single Miss Murder. Known for their dark, dramatic sound and memorable live performances, AFI has released eleven studio albums, with their latest, Bodies, arriving in 2021.
