Anna Vissi is a Greek Cypriot singer born in 1957, recognized as one of Greece's most successful and influential recording artists. She began her career performing locally before moving to Athens in the early seventies, where she quickly rose to prominence after winning the Thessaloniki Song Festival in 1977. With a career spanning over four decades, she is known for blending Western pop and dance with traditional Greek music, pioneering the laïko-pop genre.
