Anouk Schemmekes, known professionally as Anouk, is a Dutch singer and songwriter who rose to fame with her 1997 hit "Nobody's Wife." She has since become one of the Netherlands' most successful recording artists, with multiple chart-topping albums and well-known singles such as "Michel," "Girl," "Lost," and "Birds." Anouk's music blends rock, pop, and adult contemporary styles, and she has also explored more folk-influenced Dutch-language material in recent years. By 2022, she had released thirteen studio albums, including one produced in the United States by Glen Ballard.
