Arthur Edward Pepper Jr. (1925–1982) was an influential American jazz musician celebrated for his expressive alto saxophone playing. A prominent figure in West Coast jazz, he first gained recognition with Stan Kenton's big band. Pepper also played tenor saxophone, clarinet, and bass clarinet, showing versatility throughout his career.
