Audio-Technica ATM350S Instrument Condenser Microphone

The ATM350S is a miniature cardioid condenser microphone engineered for instrument amplification and recording, supplied with a universal clip mount that accommodates a wide range of acoustic and amplified instruments. Its small form factor and flexible mounting system allow discrete placement close to the instrument's sound source, minimizing feedback and stage interference while delivering clear, natural amplification.

Clip-On Mounting System

The included clip mount attaches securely to instrument bells, guitar sound holes, piano lids, and drum rim flanges without adhesive or permanent modification. The gooseneck element allows precise directional positioning of the capsule, ensuring consistent pickup regardless of performer movement on stage.

TA3F Connector and Inline Preamp

The ATM350S terminates in a TA3F mini XLR connector compatible with Audio-Technica's UniMount series bodypack transmitters and inline preamps. The supplied inline preamp (AT8537) converts the signal to standard XLR for direct connection to mixers and audio interfaces, making the microphone equally useful in wired and wireless configurations.

Frequency Response and SPL

A frequency range of 40 Hz to 20 kHz covers the full harmonic content of brass, woodwind, and string instruments. Maximum SPL of 142 dB and a switchable 10 dB pad accommodate the loudest acoustic instruments without capsule overload.

The cardioid directional microphone is designed to be most sensitive to sounds coming directly from the front and less sensitive to sounds coming from the sides and back. This directional pattern resembles the shape of a heart (hence the name "cardioid") and is ideal for situations where it is necessary to focus on a single sound source and minimize ambient noise.
