Media Composer 2025.6

In Media Composer 2025.6, Avid delivers a range of improvements focused on transcription, titling, syncing, and interoperability. The Transcript Tool sees major usability upgrades, including easier access to settings, refined word-by-word selection via keyboard, support for deleting individual transcripts, and a more predictable Single Transcript Index system that no longer overwrites previous results when changing language settings. MediaCentral imports now automatically include transcription data, simplifying asset handoff between platforms. Avid Titler+ introduces clip text labels in the timeline for easier identification and a new EDL export feature, allowing each title to be logged with unique timecode and names—streamlining post workflows. Editors can now use the “Use Marks” option when generating SubCaps, targeting specific timeline sections. The Camera column is now used in both AutoSequence and Spot to Timecode functions, enabling faster multi-camera syncing by organizing clips based on camera source. Support for OpenTimelineIO (OTIO) import opens the door to broader compatibility with third-party applications, and a new setting for AVC Long GOP encoding quality allows users to balance speed and fidelity in transcodes, mixdowns, and exports. Lastly, the update introduces HDR-specific relinking options, offering more precise control in high-dynamic range workflows.
