Ben Folds Five was an alternative rock trio from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, formed in 1993 by Ben Folds, Robert Sledge, and Darren Jessee. Known for energetic piano-driven songs and witty lyrics, the band found mainstream success with the hit single Brick from their 1997 album Whatever and Ever Amen. Over their career, they released several albums and singles, and contributed to various soundtracks. After first disbanding in 2000, Ben Folds Five reunited in 2011 to release The Sound of the Life of the Mind, disbanding once more in 2013.
