Bolt Thrower was a British death metal band formed in Coventry, England in 1986. Known for their heavy, war-themed sound, the band released their debut album in 1988 on Vinyl Solution before joining Earache Records, where they became one of the label’s top acts. They later signed with Metal Blade Records. Over three decades, Bolt Thrower released eight studio albums, several EPs, and toured extensively across Europe, North America, and Australia. Their music gained a devoted following, selling over 100,000 albums in the United States alone by 2005. After releasing their final album, Those Once Loyal, the band ceased recording and ultimately disbanded in 2016, following the death of drummer Martin Kearns. Bolt Thrower is regarded as one of the most consistent and enduring acts in British death metal.
