Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, founded in 1970 by Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson, Robin Zander, and Bun E. Carlos. Known for blending '60s pop melodies with '70s hard rock and punk energy, they helped define the power pop sound. After their 1977 debut, the band gained international fame with "In Color" and the hit "Surrender" from "Heaven Tonight." Their breakthrough came with the live album "At Budokan," featuring the classic "I Want You to Want Me." Cheap Trick enjoyed continued success with "Dream Police" and the '80s comeback single "The Flame." Over their career, they have released numerous albums, earned a cult following, and influenced generations of rock artists. With more than 20 million records sold and thousands of live performances, they remain an enduring force in rock music. Cheap Trick was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. The current lineup includes Zander, Nielsen, and Petersson.
