Christy Moore, born in 1945, is a renowned Irish folk singer, songwriter and guitarist. A founding member of Planxty and Moving Hearts, he is celebrated for his powerful solo career and his music’s focus on political and social themes. His debut album, Paddy on the Road, appeared in 1969. In 2007, he was honored as Ireland’s greatest living musician.
