Concert Ukulele Gig Bags

Concert ukulele gig bags protect this mid-sized instrument on your way to rehearsals, school and concerts. You'll find padded gig bags with 5 to 10 mm of padding that absorbs knocks, as well as lightweight bags without padding that mainly protect the ukulele from dust and scratches. Most have a front pocket for a tuner, strings or sheet music, and many also have backpack straps. You can choose from gig bags by Pasadena, CNB, Ortega, Cascha, Fender, RockBag and Bespeco.

Which concert ukulele gig bag should you choose?

• Padded gig bag for everyday carrying – CNB CB580U2, Fender FU610, RockBag Student and Bespeco BAGUKEC have 10 mm padding, while Cascha HH 2034 has 5 mm foam. The Fender is made of durable 600D polyester with a soft microfibre lining, the CB580U2 has YKK zips and the RockBag uses water-resistant RokTex material.
• Gig bag with neck support – CNB UB680/65, Pasadena KT37TUB and Cascha Premium Gigbag have a strap or pad inside that holds the instrument's neck in place. The Cascha Premium has 5 mm padding at the front and 10 mm at the back, and you can pick it in several colours.
• Eye-catching look – Pasadena CUB10CVS is a colourful padded gig bag made of cotton and nylon with backpack straps. Ortega OUBSTD-CC has thick padding, sturdy zips and an accessory compartment.
• Lightweight bag – CNB UB380/65 has no padding and comes with a front pocket, a handle and a shoulder strap. It is enough for short trips and keeps dust off the ukulele at home.
• Cover against dust and sun – Veles-X Concert Ukulele Cover is double-sided: the silver side reflects UV radiation and keeps the instrument from overheating on stage, while the black side serves as a dust cover at home. It closes at the bottom with a drawstring.

Will your ukulele fit in a concert ukulele gig bag?

A concert ukulele is larger than a soprano and smaller than a tenor, so choose a bag according to the size you play. CNB UB680/65 is designed for concert ukuleles up to 65 cm long, Ortega OUBSTD-CC has an internal length of about 68 cm and the Veles-X cover is 69 cm tall. Cascha Premium Gigbag fits both concert and tenor ukuleles. You'll find bags for other sizes among the ukulele gig bags, and ukulele hard cases give sturdier protection for travel.
