D'Addario PL012-5 Single Guitar String

D'Addario PL012-5 Plain Steel Single String

The PL012-5 delivers five individual .012 gauge plain steel strings built for electric guitar. Drawn from high-carbon steel in a round wire profile, each string produces the bright, cutting tone that sits at the heart of a standard light or regular light electric set. The 5-pack format solves a common problem for gigging players: when a single high string snaps mid-set, there is no need to discard an entire fresh pack just to replace one broken string. As a replacement or custom-set building block, this string matches the gauge found in popular 9-42 and 10-46 electric sets where the .012 sits in the D-string position.

Who It's For

The PL012-5 is the right choice for electric guitar players who need a reliable .012 plain steel replacement string on hand at all times. It suits anyone running a light or regular light gauge set (such as 9-42 or 10-46) whose D-string position calls for a .012 plain steel wire. Gigging musicians, teachers, and repair technicians will appreciate the 5-pack format for keeping spares in a gig bag, case, or workshop drawer. The uncoated plain steel construction delivers the bright, articulate attack favored in rock, blues, country, and pop styles, and the string is also compatible with acoustic guitar for players who want to mix and match gauges.
