D'Addario XLB075 Single Bass String

Single Long-Scale Bass String for Replacement and Custom Sets

The D'Addario XLB075 is a single nickel-wound bass guitar string sold on its own, intended for replacing a worn string on a long-scale bass or for assembling a custom gauge set. It uses the same round-wound nickel-plated steel construction as the full XL Nickel Bass line, giving it a bright, clear tone with defined fundamentals and a consistent magnetic response to the pickup. As a heavy-gauge .075" single, it works well as a low-position string on a long-scale bass, giving players a thicker feel under the fingers and a fuller fundamental. All D'Addario strings are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA at the company's New York production facility.

Who It's For

Bass players who need a single replacement string or want to build a custom gauge set without buying a full pack will find this string a practical choice. It fits long-scale electric basses with a string scale length of up to 36-1/4" (921 mm), making it compatible with most standard 4-string and 5-string basses. The round-wound nickel-plated steel construction suits rock, blues, pop, and any genre that calls for a bright, articulate low end with clear note definition. The heavy .075" gauge is well suited to players who prefer a thicker feel under the fingers and a fuller fundamental on the lowest string position.
