D'Addario G DZ611 3/4M Double bass Strings

Zyex Synthetic Core for a Warm, Gut-Like Tone

The D'Addario Zyex Bass Single G String brings the warm, complex character of a synthetic-core string to the G position of any 3/4 scale double bass. Built around a multifilament Zyex polyketone core wound with titanium, this string delivers a rich tone with power and clarity reminiscent of traditional gut strings. It settles in on the instrument within hours, providing outstanding pizzicato attacks and sustain, plus a superb bowing response. As a single replacement string, it allows players to refresh or customize their existing Zyex set without replacing the entire configuration.

Who It's For

This G string is the right choice for intermediate and professional double bass players who need a reliable replacement for a 3/4 scale instrument. Its medium tension and synthetic core deliver tuning stability even under extreme climate conditions, making it well suited to gigging musicians who travel between venues with varying humidity and temperature. The warm, gut-like tone with modern articulation works equally well for jazz pizzicato playing and classical arco bowing. Players seeking to match an existing Zyex set or replace a worn G string will find this single string an exact-fit solution, sharing the same .064" gauge and 61.0 lbs tension as the G in the full DZ610 3/4M set.
