Damper System
Drum dampers help adjust drum sustain, shorten resonance, or suppress unwanted overtones without immediately replacing the head. They are useful for practice, recording, and live playing when you need to get the sound under control quickly. When choosing, consider whether you want subtle fine-tuning, more pronounced damping, or a practical solution for a specific drum.
For protecting the playing surface, use bass drum head protection instead; to change the drum’s character itself, choose suitable drum heads. Damping should adjust the sound, not cover up an incorrectly tuned instrument.
