Epiphone EDS-1275 Doubleneck – Two Guitars in One Instrument
The Epiphone EDS-1275 Doubleneck in Vintage Cherry is a refreshed version of one of the most recognizable guitars ever made. Chosen by rock players, progressive innovators and jazz fusion guitarists alike, it pairs a dual-pickup 12-string neck with a dual-pickup 6-string neck, so you can move from shimmering 12-string chords to 6-string riffs and solos in the middle of a song. This version now comes with genuine rosewood fretboards.
Solid Mahogany Body
The solidbody EDS-shaped body is made of mahogany, delivering the warm, midrange-focused tone this model has always been known for. Beveled edges make it comfortable against the body, and the double-cutaway design provides easy access along the full length of both necks. The body is finished in gloss Vintage Cherry with a black pickguard.
- Body Material: Mahogany — warm tone with strong midrange.
- Finish: Gloss, Vintage Cherry
Two Fast-Playing Necks
Both mahogany necks are glued into the body as a set neck to support sustain and resonance. Each has a SlimTaper 60s C profile for smooth, agile playing and a bound rosewood fretboard with 20 medium jumbo frets and pearloid split parallelogram inlays. The 12" fretboard radius feels comfortable for both chords and lead lines.
- Neck Profile: SlimTaper 60s C
- Scale Length: 24.75" (628.65 mm)
- Fretboard: Rosewood, single-ply binding, 12" radius
- Frets: 20, Medium Jumbo
Stable Tuning for 18 Strings
Each Kalamazoo-style headstock carries Epiphone Deluxe tuning machines with keystone buttons and a Graph Tech nut. Together they keep all 18 strings stable, so you spend more time playing and less time retuning. The Epiphone logo is inlaid in mother of pearl on each headstock. Two LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridges allow precise setting of action and intonation, while claw-style tailpieces anchor the strings securely and make restringing simple. All hardware is nickel-plated.
ProBucker Pickups and Flexible Switching
Each neck is fitted with a pair of Epiphone ProBucker humbuckers – a ProBucker 2 in the neck position and a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 in the bridge position – for balanced output in every setting. The 12-string pickups have nickel-plated covers, while the 6-string uses uncovered pickups for a slightly brighter and more assertive edge. The range goes from chiming cleans to powerful leads and full-bodied distortion.
- Neck Pickup: ProBucker 2
- Bridge Pickup: ProBucker 3
- Controls: Master volume and tone for each neck (CTS potentiometers), Black Speed knobs
- Switching: 3-way pickup selector for each neck + 3-way switch to select either neck or both
Who Is It For
The EDS-1275 Doubleneck is made for guitarists who need both a 12-string and a 6-string on stage and want to switch between them without interrupting the performance. An Epiphone hardshell case is included for secure storage and transport.
