Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad, known as Frida, is a Swedish singer best recognized as one of the founding members and lead vocalists of ABBA. Born in 1945 in Norway to a Norwegian mother and German father, she was raised in Sweden and began her career as a jazz singer after winning the New Faces talent competition in 1967. Before ABBA, she found moderate success in Sweden, including a notable appearance at Melodifestivalen in 1969. Frida achieved worldwide fame with ABBA, one of the most successful pop groups, selling over 150 million records globally. Following ABBA's breakup, she pursued a solo career, releasing international albums such as Something's Going On and Shine, and her final Swedish album, Djupa andetag, before retiring from music. Through her third marriage, she holds the courtesy titles Princess Reuss and Countess of Plauen.
