Catalina Club Mini — Compact Gretsch Sound in Dark Cherry Sparkle
The Catalina Club Mini brings Gretsch's warm mahogany tone to a space-saving 4-piece shell pack. Built around 7-ply mahogany shells, this kit pairs a 16" bass drum with a 10" rack tom, 13" floor tom and 13" snare — a configuration that fits comfortably in smaller rooms and tight stages. The Dark Cherry Sparkle finish keeps the kit stage-ready without overwhelming a modest playing space.
What's in the Box
The pack ships with a bass drum riser and a tom holder, so the core kit is ready to set up out of the box. Cymbals, stands, pedals and a throne are sold separately, letting players pair the drums with their preferred hardware. That makes this Mini kit a flexible foundation for a first kit, a practice space, or a compact secondary rig.
Shell Material: Mahogany
Mahogany is a rich, warm-toned wood known for its deep and mellow sound. When used in drum shells, mahogany offers a smooth, rounded tone with enhanced low-end warmth and a pronounced midrange. The sound is typically more subdued in the high frequencies, which results in a more vintage feel. Mahogany shells are ideal for genres like blues, jazz, and classic rock where a deeper, more resonant tone is desired.
Number of Plies: 7
The number of layers affects the overall resonance, sustain, and tonal qualities of the drums. With 7 layers, the sound becomes even more focused, providing a deeper low-end response and a tighter midrange, while maintaining smooth and controlled high frequencies.
