Guru Guru is a German krautrock band that began in 1968 under the name The Guru Guru Groove. Founded by drummer Mani Neumeier, bassist Uli Trepte and guitarist Eddy Naegeli, the group soon saw American guitarist Jim Kennedy step in for Naegeli. After Kennedy was sidelined by illness, Ax Genrich joined on guitar, solidifying the lineup that would record their influential debut album in 1970. Guru Guru became known for their experimental sound, blending psychedelic rock with improvisational elements, and remain a key name in the krautrock movement.
