Hecate Enthroned is a symphonic black metal band from England, now primarily based in Cheshire. Originally formed in 1993 with members from both Wales and England, they began as a blackened death metal group under the names Amethyst and then Daemonum before embracing a symphonic black metal sound and adopting their current name in 1995. Their name references Hecate, the ancient Greek goddess associated with magic and necromancy.
