James Bay is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his soulful melodies and emotive performances. He gained widespread recognition with the platinum-certified single Hold Back the River in 2014, followed by his debut album Chaos and the Calm, which topped the UK charts. Bay won the Brit Awards Critics' Choice and Best British Male Solo Artist, and received three Grammy nominations in 2016. He continued his success with the release of his second album Electric Light in 2018.
