Jeff Parker is an American guitarist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles. Known for his adventurous approach to jazz, electronic, rock, and improvisational music, he has been a key member of the influential post-rock band Tortoise since 1996 and helped found Isotope 217 and the Chicago Underground Trio. After studying at Berklee College of Music, he became an important figure in Chicago’s creative music scene and is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. Parker has collaborated widely with artists such as George Lewis, Brian Blade, Joshua Redman, Fred Anderson, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Jason Moran. His solo discography includes albums like The New Breed, Suite for Max Brown, and Forfolks, highlighting his distinct blend of styles and innovative sound.
