Katapult is a Czech rock band founded in 1975, known for a sound that blends hard rock with elements of pop. The group was established by guitarist and singer Oldřich Říha, with bassist Jiří Šindelář as the other longtime member. Throughout its history, Katapult has seen several drummers join its lineup. Most of the band's songs were composed by Oldřich Říha, with lyrics mainly by Ladislav Vostárek and contributions from other writers. Katapult has played around seven thousand concerts and stands among the best-selling Czech bands, second only to Olympic.
