Local Natives is an indie rock band from Orange County, California, now based in Los Angeles. Originally called Cavil at Rest, the band formed in 2005 and took its current name in 2008. Their sound blends energetic rhythms and rich harmonies, showcased on their acclaimed 2009 debut, Gorilla Manor. The band gained wider attention with their emotionally charged second album, Hummingbird, in 2013, and continued to evolve with Sunlit Youth (2016) and Violet Street (2019). After navigating personal changes, they released two albums back to back, Time Will Wait for No One and But I'll Wait for You. The current lineup features Taylor Rice, Ryan Hahn, Matthew Frazier, and Nik Ewing. Original member Kelcey Ayer departed in 2024 after nearly two decades with the group.
